Cranksgiving – Bournemouth 2016

cranksgiving Bournemouth

Following the success of last year’s Cranksgiving event we have decided to make it an annual event here in Bournemouth.

For those of you who don’t know, Cranksgiving is a worldwide event held in most cities and large towns across North America over the Thanksgiving festive period. It started in New York in 1999 and has been held annually ever since.

The rules are simple, race style is similar to an alleycat with checkpoints except the checkpoints are supermarkets and receipts from purchases must be kept instead of checkpoint signatures. The winner is the first rider to collect all of the items on the list from each specific supermarket. After the race all of the items collected are given to Bournemouth Food Bank.

Entrance is free, all you need are lights, a lock, a bag to carry everything and money to purchase the items on the list.

This year we will also be hosting a talk from Jet McDonald before the race begins, details of this can be found here.

Spectators are welcome so bring your friends and come have a fun evening.
