Velo Domestique’s tips and highlights for the London Coffee Festival 2023

Heading to the Truman Brewery and wondering what to see at the London Coffee Festival 2023?

Our team of baristas have been attending the London Coffee Festival since 2019. And we're excited for the opening industry and press day to explore what the world of speciality coffee has to showcase again this year.

Tasting coffee from world-class roasters, testing some of the latest brewing equipment, and sampling some fantastic and innovative new drinks are all things you can expect from your day at the London Coffee Festival.

If this is your first London Coffee Festival, we recommend planning some of the talks, stalls and roasters you'd particularly like to see before you arrive. From the start, the caffeinated hustle and bustle can distract you from what you want to see.

Make sure you have something to eat before you get started on the coffee, and plan yourself a halfway break to prevent going into any caffeine overdrive.

We're also excited to tell you that KeepCups and other reusable cups are actively encouraged at the Festival this year, preventing single-use coffee cup waste, so remember to bring your reusable cup!

The real draw of this show for most people is the opportunity to try and buy coffee from some of the world's finest coffee roasters. We've put together a list of our top roasters not to miss at this year's Festival:

  • Five Elephant - These Berlin-based roasters are one of the best in the world. They've brought an exceptional selection of single origins for you to enjoy over the weekend, don't miss out

  • Allpress - Another giant of the coffee world, not to be missed for a delicious coffee taster to get your day started

  • Plot Roasting - based in Woolwich, south London - has some fantastic single-origin options

  • 17 Grams - started as a coffee spot in Brighton in 2016 - they are now roasting their own delicious blends and natural coffees

  • Origin - one of the UK's pioneering speciality coffee roasters

One of the things still taking the coffee industry by storm in the past few years is kombucha, a fermented tea drink with some serious health benefits. There is a big range to choose from at this year's London Coffee Festival, but our favourites had to be London-based Jarr Kombucha and LA Brewery Kombucha, and we’re excited to go try out Momo Kobucha for 2023.

Cold brew coffee, an already well-established cold drink in the coffee industry, has some new exciting variations at LCF this year. Our Southbourne friends, Conker Spirits' Cold Brew Coffee Liqueur, have exhibited at the LCF. This year, be sure to try Union's Sparkling Black Cold Brew Coffee.

We hope you have an amazing time at the Festival, be sure to let us know if you discover any of your own favourite roasters or products during your trip.
