Last weekend Jenny and Dan took a ride on their Brother Cycles cyclocross bikes from Velo Domestique to Camp Bestival in order to test out the ‘Bike to Bestival’ (Register Here) ride out. Check out other ride shots on our Instagram. We are stoked to be working together with Bestival this year to organise such an awesome new project, reducing Bestival’s environmental impact, raising money for charity and showing festival goers some of the nicest parts of the South Coast.
Setting off in the pouring rain and howling wind was not ideal but the two set off undeterred, pushing their way along the sea front and onto the Sandbanks Chain Ferry. Once onto the open hills of the Isle of Purbeck, Dan and Jenny decided to detour from their initial planned route in order to take shelter from the onslaught of foul weather and continued on trails through the woodland.
Stopping briefly for a refreshing pint at the base of Corfe Castle, they then continued along the winding lanes, through tiny, stone villages and finally up onto the steep ridge that overlooks the Camp Bestival site. It was quite an adventure, the wind was relentless, the rain rarely let up and the sun never shone, however, they made it and as they finally rolled down to Camp Bestival they were met with the sight of festival goers having a great time, whatever the weather.
