We hope you are all staying well in these chaotic times, as some of you may already know we have opened the cafe side of our business offering takeaway drinks every Friday to Sunday 9 am 'til 2 pm. It has been a joy to be able to serve you coffee again, and this time around, we have our added espresso offering, serving you the most exceptional flat whites in town.

Our phased reopening of the cafe is largely based on the continuously changing government guidelines concerning social distancing and Coronavirus. Regardless of guidelines, we know that we want to continue serving you exceptional quality speciality coffee while doing our best to keep our team and you, our wonderful customers safe.

Currently, we believe given the size of Velo Domestique, the safest way to serve our community is through takeaway only. At present we are only serving drinks, but we plan to introduce a food offering by the end of July. We hope that in time social distancing requirements will decrease and we will be able to serve you safely inside while maintaining the high level of customer service, quality and community focus that Velo Domestique is founded on. To save time and keep customers safely distanced we have a click and collect option for all of our drinks.

We want to take the opportunity to say thank you to our incredible customers who have supported us throughout this challenging time. It has been our pleasure to continue to work through lockdown, ensuring you can get out on your bicycles, particularly for those of you needing to cycle to work. We will be a participating bike shop for the Government’s cycle repair voucher, we are awaiting further details on when this will start.

We have some fantastic new bikes in stock including the Mini-Max from the Omnium Cargo range and a selection of bikes from the team at Tifosi.

It has been inspiring to see so many of you enjoying great coffee at home, and we will continue to offer our free local coffee and brewing equipment delivery for BH1 to BH8 postcodes. We are now offering a click and collect service for anyone who would prefer to come and pick up their coffee beans. Our latest guest roaster is Dark Woods Coffee; you can find out more about their offering here.

Lockdown Community Radio (LCR) is now in its 16th week and looks to continue every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 6 'til 10 pm. The aim of LCR has always been to promote local businesses, groups and community-focused individuals who have adapted to the Coronavirus Pandemic. We have had the pleasure of hosting guests including Bournemouth Samaritans, Scott Lavene, The Way Out Back and multiple venue owners from across Bournemouth with our friends We Broke Free. We appreciate your ongoing support and hope that LCR can help bridge the gap that will be created by social distancing restrictions and live music venues safely putting on events.

We believe that together we can help make sure that the independent hospitality venues that make Southbourne so incredible survive this crisis in a safe and considerate way.
