Our Story

In 2016 Velo Domestique laid down its roots in Southbourne's bustling independent high street. Our mission was to build a home for the community of cyclists in the area as well as further afield, promoting cycling as a fun and sustainable means of transport. We pride ourselves on offering friendly and approachable service when looking after customer bikes, our head mechanic Mike has over two decades of bike maintenance experience.

We offer custom bicycle building to enable you to create the bike you need. Working closely with the bicycle brands we stock like Brother Cycles and Larry vs Harry enables us to ensure they share our ethos of quality. We have bikes to suit a wide range of requirements including eBikes, Cargo Bikes as well as gravel, road and town bikes.

Throughout our journey, we have continuously developed and improved our menu, head chef Sarah has introduced the world to our famous Breakfast Burrito as well as our own version of Avocado on Sourdough. We organise regular events including the Latin Tacover featuring tacos made using locally sourced handmade tortillas. We always offer vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free dishes on our menu and at events. All of our food is made fresh to order so many dishes can be adapted to suit dietary requirements.
