We've been long time fans of the cargo bikes created by the team at Omnium in Copenhagen. Over the past year, these pioneers of two-wheeled cargo bikes have expanded their range. This now includes this carbon belt drive model, the new Thule Yepp Maxi Seat bracket and probably most notably their new WiFi range, bringing thru-axle and big tyre clearance technology to their Cargo and Mini-Max bikes.

As manufacturers of arguably the world's most comfortable to ride, fastest and versatile cargo bikes Omnium's popularity has soared in recent years. This, along with the logistical issues created by Covid-19, has meant that stock is limited. As Velo Domestique is the UK's only Omnium Stockist outside of London, we have access to pre-order their whole range for each release. If you are looking to purchase any Omnium bicycle, including the latest WiFi and eCargo releases, please get in touch.

In stock, we currently have the Omnium Cargo with Shimano Alfine 8, carbon belt drive in a medium. The carbon belt drive means the drivetrain requires very little maintenance. Unlike a conventional metal chain that requires lubricant, the carbon design removes the need for lube and all the issues that come with it. This means the carbon belt drive is ideal for cyclists who choose to ride along Bournemouth's sandy promenade. Rather than the sand grinding into and damaging a metal chain, it can simply be brushed from the carbon belt at the end of each ride. The internal hub also allows for gear shifting without moving, ideal when transporting cargo through junctions and stop-start traffic.

The Omnium Cargo has the largest cargo space of the Omnium range, 53cm wide and 83cm long, plus with a total weight limit (including rider) of 175kg, it is incredibly versatile, and there isn't much it can't be used to move.

Omnium's unique flatbed style design means unlike most two-wheeled long john style cargo bikes, it is effortless to ride with or without cargo. Many of our Omnium customers use their Omniums as their bicycle for everything, even when riding without cargo.

The Omnium Cargo with Shimano Alfine 8 and carbon belt drive is £2250. Our model is a medium so designed for riders 175 to 185cm tall.

We also have stock of the Omnium child seat bracket, designed for use with the Thule Yepp Maxi Seat, our bracket and seat bundle is £185.

Later this month (January 2021) we have Omnium Mini-Max WiFi stock arriving, please get in touch if you would like to pre-order or arrange a test ride. These bikes are moving fast, and we have a medium with the limited-run 'Blurple' colourway arriving.

If you are interested in any of the Omnium cargo bike options or have any further questions, please drop us an email info@velodomestique.co.uk
